Privacy Policy
StoryPic: Photo Stories (“StoryPic”, “the app”) turns your photographs and recorded stories into video albums. This policy explains what the app does with your information. The short version: your photographs, recordings, notes and subtitles stay on your iPhone. BoMoSi does not collect them, and the app has no account, no analytics and no advertising.
What stays on your iPhone
- The photographs you choose, the videos and voice recordings you make, your notes and questions, the subtitles, and the albums and films you create are stored only in the app's storage on your device.
- StoryPic does not upload them to BoMoSi or to any server run by BoMoSi, and BoMoSi cannot see them.
- If you use iCloud Backup or an encrypted computer backup for your iPhone, Apple may include the app's data in that backup under your own Apple settings. That is between you and Apple.
Camera, microphone and photographs
- Camera and microphone: used only while you record a story or a narration, with the system's recording indicators visible. Nothing is recorded in the background.
- Photographs: you pick photographs with Apple's photo picker, so the app only receives the ones you choose. The app asks for permission to add to your Photos library only when you choose “Save to Photos” for a finished video.
Subtitles
Automatic subtitles are created on your iPhone using Apple's speech recognition. Your recordings are not sent to BoMoSi. Depending on your language, Apple may need to download its speech recognition model to your device; that download is handled by Apple's system and is started by you.
Purchases
StoryPic Pro is a one-time purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. Payment and Apple Account details are processed by Apple; BoMoSi does not receive your card or account details. The app checks with the App Store whether Pro is unlocked.
What BoMoSi collects
Nothing. The app contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or third-party software that collects data, and it does not ask you to create an account. App Store, Apple and your carrier may collect information under their own policies.
Sharing, backups and files you create
When you share a video, save it to Photos or Files, or create a backup file, you decide where it goes. A backup file (.storypic) contains your album, including private notes, so keep it as private as the album itself. Anything you send to other people or services is subject to their policies.
Children
StoryPic does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Families can use it together; recordings and photographs stay on the device that made them.
Your choices
- You can delete any album, recording or backup file in the app, or remove StoryPic from your iPhone, which removes its albums. Back up an album first if you want to keep a copy.
- You can turn the camera, microphone and photo permissions off at any time in iPhone Settings.
Changes to this policy
If the way the app handles information ever changes, this page will be updated and the date above will change. Updates that matter will also be described in the app's release notes.
