This Privacy Policy explains how FileTurn (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles information when you use FileTurn: File Converter on iOS or Android.

1. Summary
- You choose which files the App processes. Files stay on your device until you start a job.
- When you run a job, file content is sent over HTTPS to an online conversion service so the App can return a result.
- The App does not keep a conversion history. Temporary results can be cleared; files you save stay on your device until you delete them.
- FileTurn Pro purchases are handled by Apple or Google. We do not receive your full payment card details.
- The free App may show ads. FileTurn Pro removes ads.
- We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we process
2.1 Files you choose
When you convert, merge, split, protect, extract, resize, or ZIP files, the App uploads the selected file bytes and related options (such as passwords or page ranges) to the conversion service so it can produce an output. Without this upload, the App cannot perform its core function.
Passwords you enter for a job are sent only as needed to complete that job. Do not reuse passwords from other important accounts.
2.2 Device and technical data
The App may send a technical identifier used by the conversion service, plus basic request metadata such as operation type and file format. This supports App functionality.
2.3 Data stored only on your device
- Appearance preference (system / light / dark)
- Pinned tools on Home
- A short-lived record of FileTurn Pro entitlement from the store
- Temporary and saved result files you create in the App
These stay on the device unless you clear app data or uninstall the App.
2.4 Purchases
If you subscribe to FileTurn Pro, Apple App Store or Google Play process payment and manage the subscription. We receive entitlement signals (for example whether Pro is active), not your full card number. Apple’s and Google’s privacy policies also apply.
2.5 Advertising (free App)
The free App may show ads through Google AdMob. Ad networks may collect device and advertising identifiers and usage data as described in their policies. On iOS you may be asked for tracking permission. FileTurn Pro removes ads.

- To remember preferences on your device
- To operate the service and help prevent abuse
- To show ads in the free App (unless you have Pro)
- To respond when you contact us through the App
4. Sharing
File content is sent to the online conversion service that powers processing. Ads in the free App are provided by Google AdMob and related partners under their terms.
We do not sell personal information. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect rights, safety, and the integrity of the service.
App Store and Google Play receive purchase data under their own terms when you buy or manage a subscription.
5. Retention
- On your device: Temporary results can be cleared when you start another job. Files you save remain until you delete them or remove the App.
- On the conversion service: Files are processed to return a result and are not kept as a permanent archive of your documents.
- Support messages: If you contact us in the App, we keep the conversation as long as needed to help you.
6. Security
Transfers to the conversion service use HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Keep your device and store account secure.
7. Children
FileTurn is a general productivity tool and is not directed at children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age where you live). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us in the App.
8. Your choices
- Stop uploading by not starting a conversion.
- Clear temporary results and delete saved files on your device.
- Uninstall the App to remove on-device preferences and local data.
- Manage or cancel FileTurn Pro in your Apple or Google account settings.
- Upgrade to Pro to remove ads, or use system / store ad and tracking settings where available.
- For privacy requests, use Contact us in Settings → Support. For store billing, contact Apple or Google.
9. International transfers
Your files and technical data may be processed on servers outside your country as needed to provide the conversion service. By using the App you understand that such transfers may occur.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Policy, except where law requires additional consent.
